LEOs® provides manufacturers with a rich set of features that may be leveraged to build devices to support a variety of applications. A LEOs® End-User License is included with each LDK591x. Developers can derive devices from the LDK591x and run LEOs® on these devices. It is necessary, however, that such developers engage Empower Technologies through a LEOs® License and Distribution Agreement before any devices are shipped to customers. A moderate per unit license fee will apply to LEOs® deployments and will be spelled out within the LEOs® License and Distribution Agreement. Note that Empower is very flexible in licensing of LEOs® and is willing to discuss alternatives to an ongoing, per-device license. Such alternatives may include a one-time buyout that is based on projected unit volumes.
